Welcome to The New Herbert Spencer PAC Website |
|

What is the PAC? The Herbert Spencer Elementary School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a committee made up of all the parents of the children at Herbert Spencer school. The primary purpose of the PAC is to represent Herbert Spencer parents and to focus on the best interests of the school students. Another important role of the PAC is in helping to support all parents to be involved and informed on school issues and to help parents advocate for their children at the staff, school and district levels. |

Hello from the PAC Chair: February 26, 2010
It was quite a moving moment watching the Olympic Torch go by Herbert Spencer. Having caught the Olympic & Paralympics fever myself, I am so pleased a side effect is the pride I feel and see in others in being a Canadian. We soon welcome the Paralympics and I’m excited to see the Canadian fever continue as we support our athletes. Go Canada!
PAC nominations are coming up soon. Our current PAC is transitioning and our children will be moving onto Glenbrook Middle School before long. If you are interested in keeping all the good things the PAC does for your children at Herbert Spencer then come join. We meet the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 pm. We will mentor you in.
Next PAC meeting: Thursday April 1, 2010 @ 7:30pm in the school library.
Our emailing list is almost complete! If you haven’t already please sign up so you can keep up to date on what is happening at Herbert Spencer PAC as well as receive the school newsletter: http://www.herbertspencerpac.com/

Run Club!!
Time to strap on those runners again…beginning
March 16th @ 8:00 am in the Gym!
If you are in grade 3, 4, or 5 and would like to get a jump start on the day, join us in the gym on TUESDAY mornings at 8:00 am for the Spencer Eagles Run Club!! This group will focus on fun and fitness with the opportunity in the spring to learn more about Track and Field events including relay racing and baton passing – this will prepare teams for the district wide track meet and the grade five relays at May Day. Please contact Coach Christina if you are a parent who can RUN with the kids. We need enough volunteer parents to keep us running each week and the time commitment is one hour per week.
