School Planning Council

Another responsibility of the PAC relates to the School Planning Council.  Every year, the PAC elects 3 parent representatives to the School Planning Council, including one member of the PAC Executive.  These parents work with the school principal and teachers to develop a school plan to improve student achievement.  The School Improvement plan contains goals and objectives for the year, along with strategies and procedures for meeting these goals.  Rules governing Planning Councils are laid out in the School Act (Provincial Legistlation).  The school district uses the school plans to formulate its annual Accountability Contract with the Ministry of Education.
